About
Us

Bountiful Pantries was founded in late 2022 to address food insecurity in Washtenaw County amid rising food prices and the increased need for food assistance programs. A diverse project team came together with a shared vision of strengthening community unity, with mentorship and funding from the optiMize Social Innovation Challenge. Since then, we have achieved 501(c)(3) nonprofit status and successfully implemented 24/7 access pantries across Washtenaw County through our stigma-free model. Our mission is to combat food insecurity in our community by innovating sustainable resource distribution pantries. We aim to provide access to essential food items and hygienic products to those in need while fostering a strong sense of community and diversity among our members and partners.

Design

Our pantries were built in collaboration with Ypsilanti-based Crayne Cabinets, prioritizing key factors such as durability, weather resistance, and accessibility.
The standard design can accomodate over 160 lbs of food, and can even be upgraded to include insulation, refrigeration, and electrical components! We recognize that every location's environmental needs may differ, and are equipped and ready to work with you!
Our unique cabinets offer a stigma-free, inviting experience. We carefully considered and implemented accessible practices through our pull-door system, soothing colors, and editable design.
Our
Partners
At Bountiful Pantries, we believe that strong community partnerships are the backbone of our mission to combat food insecurity in Washtenaw County. We understand that we cannot achieve our goals alone, and it is through collaboration with community partners that we can make a lasting impact.
